I like the expression on the Sambar's face. It often stops to look back at the source of disturbance, perhaps to gauge the threat level before fleeing or moving away at a leisurely pace. The large ears help in collecting the slightest of sounds especially in dense terrain that the Sambar inhabits. Tough situation as the light levels appear to be low and the bright out of focus plants at the bottom edge, especially covering the rump part of the sambar takes away our attention. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,
Sabyasachi

Nice evidence: Sambar has large, obovate ears having very less hair, no white inside. The Sambar is checking you with a rewarding head turn as it is not unduly alarmed ! Thanks for sharing. SaktiWild

Liked the expressions captured. One photograph can tell so much about the behaviour of that animal. Nicely explained by Saktida and Sabyasachi. Thanks for sharing.
