Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve. I had not edited many of these shots before.
Converted this to black and white. This is how the prey species will view the landscape with the tiger. The stripes help in breaking the shape and merging with the landscape.
Canon EOS 1D Mark IV, Canon EF 400 f2.8 L IS USM plus EF 2xII TC ie at 800mm, ISO 1600, 1/250, f16.
Cheers,

Wonderful, that's an arresting frame in monochrome....the stripes are the focus of the image and the treatment help demonstrate the purpose you have pointed to well....good one

Nice. The tiger is sleeping, eyes shut tight and ears wide open......hearing function still not disabled. So far as is known the vision of most of the prey species is monochromatic, not dominated by colour-sensitive character. So the blending of tiger's stripes holds very well for hunting during the day. Effective depiction of natures way of providing the predator with the extra edge to procure its prey.Again nature provides the prey with certain escape tactics to ensure the survival of the fittest.Lovely portrait of the tiger in the wild. Thanks for sharing

The black and white treatment works well here. The vertical composition looks good with the two tall trees in the image. Good details and well exposed. Thanks for sharing.

Nice one sir...the tiger seems to be growing out of the earth and merging into it. a perfect setting for showing the effectiveness of disruptive colouration and countershading which are supposed to much better in making an animal merge into it surroundings in varied habitats than simple colour camouflage.
