The famed tigress of Bijrani range. Shot in Dec 2014 hardly 2 kms ahead of the Bijrani FRH.

Nikon D750, Nikkor 300 mm f4, TC 14E, 420 mm, ISO 900 (Auto), 1/640s - F/6.3, hand held from a jeep full of nerves :)

Fantastic sighting and lovely capture! One can easily identify Sharmili from her eyes.

Thanks all - this is a personal favourite of a sighting...it lasted about 15-20 mns. Was scary to begin with and charged with high drama, throughout, as she appeared to be hungry and was in a 'hunt' mode....maybe had got up from a sleep as she was yawning quite a bit while sitting. Will write out the encounter with all the snaps of her...

Nice sighting. There is a magenta cast.

A tiger yawns several times, then stretches and moves away in search of food.

Here's a processed version with the magenta reduced and green enhanced....the magenta cast has happened because of the colour temperature of the evening light...

What a beautiful picture of the tigress sitting and looking in the eye. I would probably have been in some other part of the jungle at the time you took this picture, while the action was happening here :). Thanks for sharing.
