Nikon 7100+150-600mm ISO1600 F/8 FL400mm 1/100s Kabini May 2015.While we watched fascinated this little Jumbo family emerged out of the river in a flurry of activity ran towards us in an uniform line and then suddenly did a U turn and made towards the waters edge maintaining the same dsiciplinary line.Amazingly the little Jumbo kept time and tempo with the rest.It appeared to be some sort of a training routine in the art of deception for the benefit of the little one.:001_cool:

Nice sighting of a herd complete with a tusker and a small cub. Liked the swaying tails :). Did they again get into the water? Thanks for sharing.

To us it may appear as mystery, however, the leader may send a communication (not audible to us) and instantly the herd obeys and turns around. If we can learn discipline from them then half of the problems in India can be solved. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,

Nice moment. cud be that the herd initially misjudges the direction of threat tries to move away and then corrects itself.... only they will know why....were there any other jeeps in the area ?.

Superb capture. It is always pleasure to sight elephant herd and their behaviour especially when a calf is with them.
