Posting a bird after a long time.
This is a frame grab from my Canon Cinema C300 camera. Got this while shooting a documentary. Shot with Canon 100-400 f3.5-5.6L IS USM lens. Just reduced the size to 1000 pixels along horizontal keeping the ratio intact in lightroom.

Nice perch and eye contact. Liked the symmetry created due to the other branch on the top. Thanks for sharing.

That is some serious image quality for a screengrab :)
Might try the recovery slider on the background here, as it seems a little too bright to me.

No it is not a screen grab. It is a frame grab. In PAL mode I shoot at 25 frames per second. From my editing suite I just pick up one frame and export as jpg. Then resized the 1920x1080 file to 1000 pixels on horizontal. If I increase the brightness by 2/3rd stops then the background starts burning. If I lower the highlights then the background will appear patchy.
There is also a shot with higher depth of field where the background is more in focus. However, few seconds of this shot will most likely find a place in the final film.
Cheers,
