Nice, I like it.This image beautifully portrays some behaviour and morphological characters. Sambar are much less gregarious, here we find the adult hind and her yearling together.
They are in winter coat in Corbett, pelage somewhat light, tinged with pale raw umber. On the rump, the inside of legs and on the chin, hair is much paler. The dorsal aspect of the tail is dark. The large ears have much less hair...there is no white in Sambar.
It is winter and yet, have you heard anything about the black Cobra guarding the main entrance of Dhikala? Thanks for sharing. SaktiWild

Dear Saktida, Thank you for your lovely informative comment, I enjoy reading them.

This time the Cobra was not observed, maybe relocated the burrow.

The sambar have to guard themselves for any danger and their large ears are raised to detect even the slightest of the noise. The image looks soft. Did you try any noise reduction? Thanks for sharing.

Watchful in tandem - good looking pair. The direct eye contact and the raised ears are captivating. The 'sore spot' on the neck is not yet prominent. A higher ISO would help reach a higher shutter for more sharpness.
