Nice image. Good eye contact. These days bird sightings are more on electric wires, getting it on natural perch is difficult :(. Where was this photographed? You can post images without the black border, as it is a bit distracting. Thanks for sharing.

Most of the times they look for a vantage point to perch, often catching dragonflies in mid-air and the coming back to the perch to thrash them, squeeze out the poison and then swallow the dragonfly. It becomes tough to include the full bird with its long tail and get a pleasing composition as the head goes close to the top frame. In soft light conditions the colours come out well. Thanks for sharing.
