Interesting fact about the Oriental Honey-Buzzard is its variable plumage, which often mimics that of other raptors, especially hawk-eagles.

nice closeup. good details and eye contact . another interesting fact is if you see the head it a scaly hard surface with out any feathers...adaptation of a specialist feeder to deal with the stings.

Nice image. Where was it photographed?

The texture of the dead tree bark looks interesting. It is always tough to contain the white colour of the perch. The white of the perch and the dark feathers pose tough challenges to the cameras dynamic range.
Interesting info by Roopak. The evolutionary adaptations of species is amazing. We hardly know a tiny fraction of what we see. Thanks for sharing.
