Big Munna in little Pool--Tiger in Bandipur

We spotted this tiger cooling off in a pool quite close to a kill he had made earlier of a huge male Gaur.The dead Gaur was lying close to the road side in the thick lantana shrubbery.From the safari bus we could clearly see that the kill was untouched.Next morning we found the kill in the same place with its hind quarters eaten.Nov 2015 evening.Nikon 7100+150-600mm 1/250s ISO400 F/8 .The setting sun was shining right into the camera

Cooling off after a successful kill :). Slight off centered composition would have been good here with more space on right, also more of the flowers on the right would look nice. You could have tried a higher ISO for more shutter speed and sharpness (as there would be lot of movement in the bus). Thanks for sharing.

Yes it is indeed amazing that in Africa a pride lions work together to bring down the African buffalo .Here the tiger brings it down alone.

I would have liked to have seen the tiger at his kill in photographs also.

I also wish to see a shot of tiger on the adult bull gaur kill. That would seriously be a majestic sight. The power of the tiger and its intelligence fills us in awe.

It had rained in the morning so the drag marks and the massive footprints of the tiger were clearly visible on the wet ground.Sighting Munna so close ,keeping in mind how extremely territorial the tiger is it was safe to assume that he was indeed responsible for the kill.Of course he must have returned to his kill late evening or night,as we saw the gaur partially eaten in the morning.
