Thanks a lot to all of you for your inspiring comments.
The shot was taken from the banks of the Mathura Bill and I was very close to the water. I discovered the snake coming with its kill in its mouth and could see it for a few moments only. Then it disappeared under the thick cover of the hyacinths. I did not see it praying on the fish.
