Originally a lowland species, in some areas the imperial eagle has been pushed to higher elevations by habitat loss and hunting.
The imperial eagle usually hunts alone, targeting small mammals and sometimes big mammals too.

Slight head turn and the eye would have got a glint of catchlight. The yellow on the head looks to be slightly hot. Do you have a vertical composition? Thanks for sharing.
