Sighted in Masinagudi Nikon 7100+200-500mm ISO1600 F/6.3 1/250s .The bird was perched on a branch in a dense copse of trees in march 2016.

Lovely sighting. Good you got the eye in clear. Nice composition. I liked the white flowers on the left :). Thanks for sharing.

Lovely crisp image. Their typical monotonous calls, with notes rising to a crescendo before ending abruptly was hated by Englishmen suffering from meningitis, scarlet fever, malaria as they could not tolerate the calls of common hawk cuckoo. Thus they named the bird as brain fever.

Nice. I have a love for this bird.
In the winter nights when others sleep, its call 'Pieu Kanha, pieu kanha' mesmarises me from my childhood till today. One more life is awake and active. Its call has been lovingly immortalised by the second greatest poet from Bengal, Kaqi Nazrul Islam in his famous songs- Nazrul Geeti. Thanks for sharing. SaktiWild

It is always tough to get the perfect angle in safari situations. I would have loved a slightly wider composition and a bit more to the left so that the full head would have been framed by the curved branch. Thanks for sharing.
