The lord of the grassland must have born somewhere in the beautiful landscape of terai and bhabaar forest located in the foothills of the great Himalayas. From a defenseless elephant calf has now grown into a formidable tusker, roaming the lush green meadows and hills of Himalayas. Fearless and indomitable to all except the mankind (as depicted in this image, doubling up at our sight). With him, we thrill to the vastness of the Himalayan forest cover. One day, with the extinction of these majestic creature of God, we will not only repent our action but also mourn the passing of these wilderness, as the farm, roads and towns of human civilization encroach at their inexorable pace, isolating out the jungles into separate islands, and hemming in the great elephant herds and many other species to extinction.

Even a huge tusker like him prefers to avoid humans :(. Nice environment composition. Good you could sight him in the open and in good light. Was there only your gypsy? Seems he is musth? Is there a slight tilt? Thanks for sharing.

When the kalagarh dam was built it took away some prime forests. These majestic wild elephants are in the last fight for survival. Watching these creatures in the wild beautiful landscape is an indescribable feeling. Hope man comes to his senses and stops his destructive hand in wiping away all the biodiversity and the very basis of survival of living beings on earth.
