Nice to see two adolescent tuskers jostling. Both have nice long tusks. It seems the ear of the one on the right has got torn in such similar fights. Where was this photographed? Thanks for sharing.

At around 05.00PM we were travelling in safari vehicle. Travelling few distance into the Jungle, we heard trumpet of elephant. At a distance of 30-40 meters, we could see two fully grown massive tuskers fight. The fight which looked friendly eventually turned violent. The fight lasted for around 5 minutes. The comparatively smaller one was pushed back towards the jungle. Our vehicle slowly moved towards them and reached up to a distance of 10 meters from the tuskers. Suddenly the fight stopped, and both looked at us. The looser went straight to the jungle, but the winner (on the right side) came straight at us. The tusker had to cross a small ditch to reach the vehicle, by the time it reached the beaten path, the driver managed to take the vehicle to a safer distance. The winner stared at us for few seconds and returned to the jungle. Felt goosebumps at that instance.

Nice battle between two young adults both carrying horizontal, evenly curved tusks of almost equal length, the right one having thicker tusks. May be this fight is in assertion of dominance. Lovely documentation.

I have seen a fight between two tuskers, likely to be over seeking favour from cow elephant in a herd in Kaziranga for long period from across a jheel. Thanks for sharing. SaktiWild
