The information about Barred Cuckoo-dove is minimum till days. Its natural habitats are boreal forests and subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests.
That shot was taken in the Neora Valley National Park, Darjeeling, West Bengal on October, 2016.
Canon 600D + Sigma 150-600 mm
516 mm, 1/400s, f/6.3, iso 800

Nice sighting of this beautiful bird. Nice eye contact. It is a male, IDs are clear in the image. Some rare mammal or bird is waiting to greet you in Neora Valley. Thanks for sharing. SaktiWild

Many many thanks for your observation....This shot was taken in extremely low light condition and loss of details may be due to dense canopy of Neora Valley...

Thank for your observations....The Neora Valley is very much rich in flora as well rare fauna...

At 500mm + focal lengths, one needs to be very careful about shake. Also, when one is on a trek, hands don't remain as steady. Nevertheless, using correct handholding techniques as well as using any support would be of help. How long was this trek? Thanks for sharing.

Yes sir during trek it was not possible to hand standstill to take shots.....It was great trek of 10 hours (8 km) from Kolakham, Neora Valley to Changey Falls and return back, observing plenty of bird species...
