Always a great excitement to come across this beauty and even more so to frame it. This time came across a slightly less active one aiding me to get ample chance to capture the false eyes at the tip of its wing, unfortunately though the location wasnt clean and hence ended up with the eaten up leaf distracting in the background. Though the tail is really unique and very well mimics the front area/eyes with two extensions resembling the antennae and with slight breeze it does mimick a similar motion, perfect solution to confuse the predator

The false eyes are captured nicely. Agree about the leaf in the background, wish it was possible to avoid it. Maybe a vertical composition would have worked here. Thanks for sharing.

With external flash, positioned on top, its difficult to get vertical compositions as only one side gets the light...Many of my earlier attempts have failed, except if sunlight falls on one side...

The background is very distracting. Since you have fired the flash it makes it worse. The light intensity falls off inversely proportional to distance. So the background normally comes dark. In this case the large patches of black and the green makes it difficult. Why did you shoot in horizontal instead of vertical?

Sabyasachi Sir, as mentioned earlier, with the external flash(with diffuser), in vertical composition I get only one sided light/illumination, so generally have to rely on Horizontal composition, lately have started to keep the vertical composition in mind and capture the frame horizontal layout, later cropping it for the vertical composition.
