Rose Ringed - Pair

A pair of rose ringed parakeets shot from my terrace one evening.

The sun had almost set, and the sky was a bit overcast, hence the very low shutter speed.
Supported the camera on a ledge.

Good image. More sharpness would have been a plus. since you have alot of branches around, using a low aperture would have been better to get them into focus. Also I would try to avoid the roof at the lower left corner... :)

Sharpening was bringing out some noise, so only sharpened the edges.
While cropping I tried my best to get least of the roof into the frame. Cropping out what you see in this frame, I felt, would ruin the compo. You might be thinking of a different angle (?) but this was the only compo from where I could avoid big buildings in the BG :D
About the aperture, do you mean wider aperture to get only the birds and not the branches into focus, or narrower aperture to get most of both birds into focus?:confused:

In this case you dont have enough zoom to isolate one bird. So getting the birds along with the Red flowers in focus would have looked better in my opinion. So that would have made the entire part of the tree stand out in my opinion. So a higher F say (F11) would have helped. But I see your shutter speed already down to 1/40. Pump up the ISO a bit more (upto 200 maybe) to gain more shutter speed.

Nice capture. The red leaves provide a good contrast with the birds. I think a vertical composition would have possibly helped you to avoid the roof on the left and give a off-centre look to the image too.
