Nikon 7100+150-600 F/8 ISO1600 1/80s Dec 2016 late evening. It was practically dark and we had reached the end of our safari drive when we saw this magnificent tusker busy feeding, illuminated in the light of a fading sun which had managed to penetrate the thick canopy above.

Stout, adult in its prime.
Old injury mark or congenital deformity in left ear.
Krishnan has observed: ... 'Nor does mere thickness of the tusks reflect size or power, though an animal with horizontally carried thick tusks, especially when these project about 3 ft. from gums and are evenly curved, is usually stout, long-barrelled and powerful.'
This tusker looks similar. Rare from Bhadra and nice take. Thanks for sharing. SaktiWild

Nice sighting. You have framed it well between the two tree trunks. Maybe using a slight wider aperture would have helped to get some more shutter speed, as the light was low. You had quite good sightings in Bhadra, seems it is slowly reviving back. Thanks for sharing.
