This was at the IIT campus on Sunday (Sabyasachi, for some strange reason your mobile was returning 'Not reachable' on Sunday around 3:30 PM and so went ahead alone to Pallikarnai and to IIT)

The light was very low as it had just rained and the dark clouds were still around. Add to this, the buck was in fairly thick tree cover.

Shot from within the car

400D, Canon 70-300, F 4.5, 1/100, ISO 800. Did not want to risk a higher ISO for fear of noise :-)

Rajan,
I had dashed off to Bandipur in the weekend, so my mobile was unreachable. I would definitely join you next time.

I like the pose. I wish for a little bit more space at the top as the horns appear to be close to the top frame. Opening up the shadows would be good. I can see that light was terribly low. Even ISO 800 in the 400D is a bit too much. The newer bodies handle the noise better.

Cheers,
Sabyasachi

Nice pose. The head turn is interesting. Agree about the space at the top.
Look forward to more..

I like the pose. agree that on a 400D the noise can be substantial beyond ISO 400. but it seems to be in control in this image but for the blacks...
