Fantastic shot, Same views as Mrudul...
But just like in the Egyptian Vulture portrait, f8 has not covered the whole body, why is that? :confused: Is it a macro photograph? (Just joking :D :p)

Depth of field is dependent on aperture (ie. lens opening), focal length and distance of the subject. The closer is the subject, less is the depth of field. At 800mm and about 20feet distance, the depth of field would be about 0.06feet.

Also, in this case I was using 1/1000 th of second shutter speed. A higher shutter speed say 1/2500 would have freezed the feathers better.

I like the image composition. The bright background doesnt distract much. you have got the face well exposed. did you use EV compensation?
