Was lucky to spot this beautiful Indian Wold (Canis lupus pallipes) at the Mayureshwar Wildlife Sanctuary. This tiny sanctuary, barely 5 sq km, has plenty of Chinkaras, Indian wolves, i saw a fox, yellow wattled lapwings and is also a roosting site for migrating harriers in the winters. Again, the wolf had seen us and was getting away, so focus wasnt that great.

Its good that this small sanctuary is home to so many species. Nice sighting of this elusive species. Where is the sanctuary located? they have gypsy rides or you can take your car? Thanks for sharing.

Congrats on sighting a lone Wolf and taking a nice picture of it. I was in Mayureshwar exactly a year back and did see some very fine Chinkaras. Seeing a wolf there is not common. Thanks for sharing.

Nice sighting. Please post the date of sighting. In these lesser known places, even though they are designated as sanctuaries, it is important to note the dates as who knows when these things might become very important.

It would be helpful if you can post a note in the wilderness updates section with your impressions about the current state of the place. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,
