The preferred habitat of the Barn Swallow is open country with low vegetation, such as pasture, meadows and farmland, preferably with nearby water. Such type of habitat is found in the Ramsar Site of Kolkata, i.e. East Kolkata Wetlands, Saltlake. Though this site is very close to urban crowding and high-rise buildings.

In this cropped composition, the horizontal is a bit longer. Our eyes are acquainted with the 35mm format proportions and any deviations makes us look at the image to find out why the deviation has been done. So generally it takes away attention from the subject. In this case, the wider horizontal gives an impression of fat bird, which it is not. How much of a crop is this? Thanks for sharing.

Agree a more proportionate crop would have strengthened the composition. Which software are you using to process images? Thanks for sharing.
