We made almost 3 trips during the day at a particular spot in Tadoba to spot the Fish Eagle and Brown Fish Owl but could not succeed and as we were leaving we spotted both of them at the same time, one with a catch and the other without. There was not much light but we could manage some quick snaps. Here they are :

Brown Fish Owl - Nikon D500, f/5.6, 1/160 sec., ISO-1600, 500 mm
Fish Eagle - Nikon D500, f/5.6, 1/15 sec. ISO-1600, 500 mm

Does your lens have VR? If it so, then you can still get sharp images a lower shutter speed. When you are shooting subject with dark feathers, you have to be very careful about where the darks/shadow areas are in the exposure curve. If the dark areas are touching the left side of the scale, then the image is underexposed and will lack details. Subsequent brightening the image during post processing will introduce more noise. You can check the histogram and check the exposure.

Were you using a bean bag or any support while shooting or was it handheld? How much of a crop is this? Thanks for sharing.

Your patience and perseverance paid off :). Nice perch. I like the eye contact, the eyes are very captivating. Look forward to other images from the trip. Thanks for sharing.
