Well this creature of the night was sitting right out in the open at nine in the morning in hot sunlight with its little one. Nikon 7100+150-600mm 1/800s F/8 FL360mm ISO400 in the wonderful forests of Satpura April 2017.

Wow. I had seen a Nightjar before but never with its young ones. It can be very difficult to spot. You photographed this while on a trek or from a gypsy? Thanks for sharing.

Often we find it difficult to spot them during the daytime. I agree with Mrudul that sighting it with young chicks is not common at all. How far was it from the road? Thanks for sharing.

They were approximately 15 feet away from the vehicle.
