Huge Gaur - Alpha male of the herd crossing the forest stream. Stunned by the size of this beast.

Massive bull, light-coloured, with semi lunar horns having tips curved downwards - a remarkable specimen which makes Anamalai proud. Squarely-built Gaur, in Krishnan's words. Wonderful live image. Thanks for sharing. SaktiWild

Nice sighting of this huge male. The size and the bulging muscles will surely put its enemy at bay. The shutter speed was quite less. Maybe using a wider aperture like f8 would have helped to increase the shutter speed or you could have bumped the ISO further. Did you have a chance to move a bit more to the left to get it more parallel to the sensor? Thanks for sharing.

Actually the location where we sighted this guar , was a tri junction of water streams in a village road... since it was monsoon time, the bushes were grown well more than 6ft height..
By the time we reached the spot, we saw the herd on the opposite side of the stream moving away seeing us, the whole team went down the stream and positioned themselves for more click of the herd, after 15 minutes the herd had disappeared far away from us and we were moving back to the road, the huge male came out of the bushes parallel to us on the other side of the stream and stunned everyone.... Probably if we had stayed back in the road due to the elevation we would have got a better view of the surrounding.
Yes I felt the snap could have been better with higher ISO and shutter speed. :)

This looks massive. Happy to see it. Wish it was a bit more parallel to you as the gaur is moving away. Did you click a wider composition? Too often we get engrossed in shooting closeups and fail to get the wider composition. Thanks for sharing.

It s hard to believe that a Tiger can take down a beast of this musculature, amazing! And shows what a supreme predator is the Indian tiger.
