ID: Weaver ant

Well known for the ability to join several leaves into a nest, this frame captures one of the essential stages of the leaf weaving activity where some of the ants clip together the edges of the the leaves so that the other ones, usually inside the leaves, weaves together or rather sticks together to form the new nest. These outer ants were so engrossed and dedicated in the activity that they hardly budged away despite we being close to it to frame them. Though there were a few nasty ones that kept onto the aggressive or rather defensive pose with ready to bite us, in case we were too close to the nest or touched it.
