Sariska offers quite a no of species of birds and we were very happy to spot this bird of prey.Considered one of the smaller bird of prey is quite famous across the world with Singapore Air Force naming one its squadrons as Shikra and Indian Navy naming one of our helicopter base behind the bird!

Nicely captured. The dry branches in the background give an idea about its habitat. Increasing the ISO to get an higher shutter speed would have helped to get more details. Slight more space on the right (less on the left) would have strengthened the composition further. Thanks for sharing.

I agree that your shutter speed was low. You could have easily increased the ISO. Shikra is one common bird across India. Majestic nevetheless. Some years ago Mrudul had posted a photo of a Shikra catching a palm squirrel, so one can also fined these birds ready to predate within our compound walls. Thanks for sharing.
