A Sleepy Leopard in the trees

After the rains in Kabini the ground was covered with parthenium weeds tall enough to hide elephants.The only hope was to scan the lush treetops for the sight of a leopard.That was exactly what we saw, a female leopard, enjoying a late morning nap in the trees a considerable distance from the track.She did not look very happy at the disturbance.Nikon 7100+150-600 F/8 ISO 400 1/300s .Sept 2017.

I like the way leopards find out nice, comfortable branches to sleep on :). Nice composition and good eye contact. How long was the sighting? Thanks for sharing.

Good that you got a clear view of the leopard. Looks like this leopard was a long way off from the Safari vehicle. I have found that the low light in Kabini and the distance means one needs to have a long lens and sufficient shutter speed and technique to get a sharp shot. Thanks for sharing.
