Coppersmith Barbet captured in SGNP in May 2018. It was feeding on these fruits. This tree was attracting a lot of Barbets. They even allowed me to come quite close over a period of time.

very nice.. are you using tripod or monopod? It would be more attractive if you avoid the twig infront of the bird.

Agree with Samrat, avoiding the twig would have been nice, maybe you could have tried to get a bit lower. There seems to be some loss of details. Thanks for sharing.

This shot was taken on a tripod. Maybe the loss of details are due to the low light

I use an Amazon Basics tripod which is proving very flimsy for the huge Tamron 150-600 mm lens. Planning to upgrade to a Travel tripod of 15 Kg payload.
Posting a better pic without a twig and slightly better details.

Sorry for the late response as I am traveling since last month. I agree with Samrat regarding the twig infront. Right now the twig is passing infront of the bird. You could have moved a bit ahead to ensure that the bird is framed within the twigs so it would have appeared within a twig triangle. That would automatically draw our attention.

A good tripod or a monopod along with technique is a must.

PS: Please post one image per thread so that we can critique better. As far as your second image is concerned, it appears a bit dark as it is against the light. Always try to find an angle so that you get light falling on the eye of the subject.
