This image of Ruddy Shelduck is from Chilika Lake. Dug up my older images from this lake as we are trying to ward off a threat to Chilika's ecosystem from the hand of man.

Shot with my previous camera Canon EOS 1D Mark IV, EF 400 2.8 f2.8 L IS II USM lens with 2xII TC, f6.3, full frame image.

Yes you are right. In India we often call it as Brahminy duck. Scientific name: Tadorna ferruginea

Lovely take-off pose captured. Haven't got a chance to visit Chilika Lake till now :(. Hopefully I will be able to go there, before any harm is done through upcoming development projects. Thanks for sharing.

great shot ! could never get used to 400mm 2.8. had tried a few times ..felt one needs to be a 'bahubali' to work with that demon.
