From my archives. Photographed in a garden in Bangalore. I think it is a purple rumped sunbird female and not a purple sunbird female as it has a grey throat and indistinct supercilium. Please confirm.

Canon 50D, Canon 100-400 mm lens, f5.6, 1/500, ISO 200, hand held, full frame

Wow ! great sharpness even at 1/500 handheld. I guess that must be pretty close to be a full frame.

This one has come out well. One can get some good shots in gardens as well without going to forests. This image is a proof of that. Thanks for sharing.

Nice picture of the sunbird clinging delicately on the branch, Mrudul. I wonder if Bangalore still has any gardens left, with rapid commercialization and vehicles on the road I wont be surprised to see flora and fauna tainted with grease and smoke. Its a welcome relief to know such gardens as where you've been, still exist. Thanks for sharing.
