This is again an image from my archives, sometime in 2012. This picture was captured in the Jhirna range of Corbett N.P. I was pleasantly surprised at the abundance of birds in the Jhirna zone as compared to Bijrani. While 2 jeeps zipped past us trying to search for the elusive tiger, I was more than happy to have found my lifer for the day in the form of this bird. My brother in law after a while, nudged me to get over with it and move ahead, I just didn't want to move away from this beautiful bird that was actually 'showing off' for a good 20mins on the same perch.

Its true, often in the rush to sight a tiger, we miss the other species in the jungle :(. Nice to see this bird of prey perched in the open and in good light. There seems to be some loss of details. Was it far? Thanks for sharing.

The peregrine is the tiger of the sky. Amazing agility. Super eyes. A great predator. Thanks for sharing.

Good capture. I agree with Mridul. Maybe it's because of the TC ?

Race : Falco peregrinus. Terror from the skies (200 km+ while stooping) in the words of great naturalist M.Krishnan. Prominent eye and dark malar (moustache) stripe nicely documented. Thanks for sharing. SaktiWild
