As usual it was practically dark when we spotted this elegant fellow in the branches of a mid size tree .It was not an ideal sighting as we could just catch a glimpse of him through the thick leafy branches .We barely managed a few unsatisfactory shots when he descended and disappeared into the thick shrubbery below. We were busy comparing notes when unbelievably he crossed behind the vehicle .Only one person luckily saw saw hin and we hurriedly again repositioned our lenses got a few more hurried shots before he ran into the forests on the opposite side . Ours was the only lucky vehicle to have seen Blacky that day .Nikon 850+200-500 FL380mm F/6.3 ISO1250 1/200s Dec 2018 .

A very beautiful image of the elusive cat, Shyamalaji. The velvety coat looks nice and shining, the muscles are quite evident showcasing his strength and power. He seem to have got a cut mark near the eye, probably in a fight. Where has this been photographed? Thanks for sharing.

Nice image!I was informed that this black leopard has become less skittish and do not run away from vehicles as it has become more used to the presence of safaris.I think there is only one black leopard seen in Kabini!

Great sighting. Really you are lucky to sight it and also capture it in the nick of time. Loved the flexed muscles, and the shiny black coat. Hope we too sight it again soon :). Thanks for sharing.
