I shot this beauty very late in the evening at Thattekad.
Canon 5ds, Canon 300mm 2.8 mk2 with 2x teleconverter, f 5.6, 1/50 seconds, ISO 3200, tripod.

Nice picture of the pitta feeding, Dr.Katre. The catchlight looks nice and the background is pleasantly diffused, due to the bg it almost looks like a studio setting. Looks like a crop as there are some loss of details, thanks for sharing.

Thanks friends. Murugan, this is a crop, but not a big crop. I think loss of details is because of very low shutter speed. It was almost dark when this guy arrived.

Beautiful colours. I see a meal worm in it's mouth. Are meal worms naturally available in the area ? Many birds & reptile keepers breed those for feeding their pets.

Cool scene. Cropping magnifies the deficiencies in the image. So any slight lack of sharpness gets noticed. 1/50 shutter speed should be sufficient if the tripod is steady. Ofcourse, that may not be sufficient to arrest subject movement. Thanks for sharing.
