ID: Night heron

Another frame of the beauty that we had encountered along the creek area. As the sun settled down and the darkness started spreading in, we spotted some movement over the marshy bit of the creek, with the dim ambient light, I couldnt identify the object, so, in an attempt to add in some light, also for framing the subject, I decided to roll in the car and turn on the headlights. That when we all spotted the beautiful predator of the darkness, a group of night herons, scouring through the wet marshes in search of some prey. As i set u the camera and frame it, this particular one moved ahead, a bit, probably on a look out for a catch, getting in the ghostly feel to the frame, especially due to the slow shutterspeed.

Canon 80D
Canon 55-250 IS
F/6.3

I think you have clicked when it moved. With 0.6 second exposure you have to time it right. It would have been nice to see it sharper ie without movement. Did you also do noise reduction? What was the time when you clicked this?

I remember while filming in Thane Creek, the moment sunsets we were assaulted by swarm of mosquitos. Thanks for sharing.
