It was very late in the evening when we saw this female moving around anxiously sniffing in the undergrowth .She was unfazed by our presence and more concerned by the spoor. We wondered if she was concerned by the presence of a tiger. Nikon 850+70-200 ,ISO 900 ,F 3.5 .Oct 2018 late evening.

Happy Women's day 2019.
What a lovely pose ! This is the pose when it is judging the options seconds before slipping away (or changing direction). Richly patterned jet-black spots and rosettes on burnt sienna ground. The head is small. Lovely take.
Leopard is truly a beautiful cat of our jungle and pound by pound the strongest.
I only had a glimpse of this beautiful jungle in March 1975. Very very pleased to see it after ages.

Thanks for sharing. SaktiWild

Madam Shyamla,
Panna was known for its Caracal. Any news?
Kind regards, SaktiWild

Sabyasachi , there was hardly any light and probably this was the reason why the leopard came up quite close at least once in its meanderings through the grass .No surprisingly there were no alarm calls throughout the sighting which lasted for about five minutes.

Saktipadaji , unfortunately we did not see the elusive Caracal .This cat has not been seen for quite a few years and now believed to be extinct in the MP Jungles . We did however see a huge Hyena .Unfotunately I could not photograph it as it disappeared before we could come up close . There is no doubt that the forests of Panna are the most unique and exotic of the forests of MP .

Since there were no alarm calls, probably there was no tiger nearby.Nice pose given by the Leopard and nicely captured.

The eyes are captivating, just locks the look through the gaze. The curvy tail complements the entire frame of the leopard. A little more depth of field would have helped cover the details better. Thanks for sharing Shyamalaji.
