While staying at Masinagudi last Dec, we had mid days fairly free which led to exploring the open jungle near the resort. It was a fine line between the jungle and the resort boundary and the locals told us not to wander away too far least we chance on an elephant or a leopard and rarest of chances a tiger. We wandered around 1 km from the resort and then turned back. It was quite interesting to be on foot as we saw lots of deer, birds, hare and jungle fowl. The yellow lapwing was a cool customer of the heat, feeling absolutely comfortable foraging around while we were getting heated up in the sun. December heat was making its presence felt and unlike the central and northern part of India, its not really cold in this part of the country except early mornings. Tried to crouch and make this image to get the low angle as much as I could. Since I was shuffling between shade and open did not notice the high ISO.

You are lucky it gave you time to photograph, normally it is very agile. The low angle adds to the composition. Nicely captured. Thanks for sharing.

The lower angle is fine. If you lie down on your belly and shoot then the background becomes infinity and the background will come out very nicely diffused. The characteristic yellows of the yellow wattled lapwing has come out well. Thanks for sharing.
