Some birds are super active and the Verditer flycatcher is one such bird. Continuously hopping from one perch to another in search of food, almost the whole day it keeps busy. I could see 4 perches where it came back to regularly throughout the day, the closest to me was the wire where I managed to make this image. The other perches were natural but far, its quite a treat to watch them do what they do. Photographed in Guniyala Khal in Pokhri, Khal means valley in the local language.

Congratulations on your new gear :).

Cute bird. It seems you were out in the field observing its activities for a long time :). Has it caught something in the beak? Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Mrudul. I was outside the whole day, my homestay host put a nice easy chair and a garden umbrella out in the open for me. All that I did the whole day was observing the birds- the verditer, great barbet, magpies, pigeon and many others. Will post more soon.

And yes, it has its prey in its mouth.

Good that you got the bird with a prey. A natural prey is always preferable. However, it is always important to get a shot of the bird in wire or other manmade objects as well as it is important to document the presence of species in a location. Good to know that you had a great time in this place. Some of these places are really enjoyable. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,
