Photographed in village Jakh, near Knachi Dham Temple of Nainital. A common bird in Uttarakhand.

Cute bird. The black feathers on the chin (which gives it its name) can be viewed clearly. When was this photographed? Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Mrudul ji, just came back from uttarakhand.. It was a week-long trip... Amazing place for birding... Poaching, hunting is much less than Eastern Himalayas...

Nice to see this cute one. Did you click in the morning?
I haven't been to Nainital for sometime. Last time it was very crowded, especially in the mall area and even the lake region all around was losing vegetation. In the higher reaches there was good birding spots though. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, took this in early morning. I agree with you and same is here in north-east hilly towns. Nainital is crowded but cleaner than Darjeeling, Gangtok etc... birding in outside of Nainital is awesome. I stayed near Kilbury, and Binayak. visited Pangot also.
