Shot from a boat in the Kabini backwaters .The recent excessive rains, have brought the forests and the Kabini back waters in close proximity .This sub adult watched us for a few seconds ,then growling his displeasure, disappeared into the forest behind .Nikon 850+200-500 ,ISO 800 ,F/7.1 ,1/320s early morning .

Thats a lovely sighting. Good that the face is in the clear. The overhanging branches help guide our attention towards the tiger. Good to know that the rains have led to closer approach of the boat. Else, it was tough to do any sighting. Thanks for sharing.

Nice frame. Elusive tiger may appear like this at all times.
The caption is good. These watchful eyes have saved many forests, especially Sundarbans and Corbett.
Wish one day we will see tiger of Kaziranga or Sundarbans in a frame alike.
Thanks for sharing. SaktiWild

Beautiful composition of the habitat depicting the heavy monsoons in Kabini. The title shows its behavior as it is sitting in the vegetation and has turned to look at who is approaching. The submerged trees remind of the Sundarbans habitat :). Thanks for sharing.

The inquisitive look of the Tiger well captured! When we visited Kabini,we did not opt for the boat ride. That decision proved to be the right one as the subsequent events unfolded!
