An unusual portrait of a Black kite Miluvus migrans.

Canon EOS 1D Mark II, Canon EF 400mm F2.8 L IS USM, EF 2xII ie. at 800mm, ISO 400, f8, 1/1600, full frame image.

Ahhh.. A very curious expression there. Nice capture. The angle looks a bit steep theough. But then it gives a diff feel to the image...

Hi Sabyasachi, really unique portrait.

People like us PnS or Zoom lenses run towards the subject. On the contrary, you with prime lens must have to run away from the subject. Interesting.... :)

I agree that at times it becomes too much of focal length. :D I was clicking at 400*2=800 with a 1.3 crop factor camera ie. the effective focal length was 1024mm. Can't think of such a thing in the film days. Clearly digital has revolutionised photography.

In this case, I aimed to create an intimate portrait. There are a few standard portraits however, this expression was different.
