I hadn't processed all my tiger images from this years Bandhavgarh trip. Just processed one and sharing with you all.

Canon EOS 1D Mark II, Canon EF 400mm f2.8 L IS USM, EF 2xII ie at 800mm, ISO 200, f7.1, 1/640 sec, full frame image.

Look forward to your comments and critiques.

Cheers,

The light is nice. The composition appeals too. The dead branches however distract in my opinion. Although dont think there was any way to avoid them.

Bibhav,
I didn't want to avoid the dead branches. I have purposefully included the branches. Hence the branches are in focus, as well as the tiger.

Ahh.. OK.
Did you get a composition with the tiger in the void between the dead stem and the fanned branches? That would have been a killer composition speaking a story of the plight of the RBT.

Lovely composition. The dead braches gives a good feel of its surroundinds. The raised tail adds to the interest. Nice low angle and eye contact.

Amazing compo, almost everything in this frame adds to the image... In my opinion this is a very different tiger image.

Great Shot Sabyasachi! I think the image has all that you need to win an award, true winner for me. I have no more words to express.

I have always travelled to forest only in Karnataka, have not been that lucky with these large beasts. However I did sight tigers and Leapards at Bandipur and Kabini however i just had low resolution normal digital camera, i was not keen in photography then. I should visit forests in bandhavgarh, ranthambore & jim corbett. Is it worth visitng one of these during 3rd week of Oct'09?

Great that you all like it.

Praveen,
Corbett is a great place. However, it opens on Nov 15th.

You can go to Ranthambhore or Bandhavgarh. Both of them open in Oct. You will get to see tigers but not as frequently as you see during summer. Ranthambhore is crowded on the diwali. So if you are planning exactly on the same day, then you may book earlier.

Cheers,
Sabyasachi
