Always great to see an image of this shy denizen .Though there is little eye contact the vertical composition has directed the interest to the prospective action being contemplated by the cat . Where has this been photographed ? The lichen on the rocks points to the location being possibly somewhere in the cold regions . Thanks for sharing .

The image shows how it is intently observing and planning on its next move. Agree with Shyamalaji, the vertical composition gives a good view of the terrain it is negotiating. Thanks for sharing.

Shyamala ji, It is easy to mistake this as shot in himalayan foothills. This was shot in Bandhavgarh when summer was just setting in. Tall dense trees all around helps in keeping the place cool. However, these days cutting of trees, lopping of branches, especially to feed the forest department elephants have gradually resulted in the forest becoming more open. I have seen some areas very dark. But these days, the nature of the place has changed. Coupled with increased tourist vehicles, crowding and general mismanagement, I have stopped visiting bandhavgarh.

Jungle cat is a good hunter. It is taking position and intently looking, may be, at an adversary like snake or a prey. This Jungle cat looks young, an adult is capable to strike a prey larger than its own size and weight. Nice take. Thanks for sharing. SaktiWild
