A frame from the last nature walk, before the pandemic hit us all, the beauty was seated at the tip of the leaf, upside down, probably on a look out for the heat of the early morning sun, to warm it up so as to be ready to flutter around. Being cold and rigid, that gave me an opportunity to frame the winged angel face first, giving a unique feel to the whole frame

EXIF:

Canon 100mm macro

Normally all the concentration is on the wings, the frontal view gives an idea of its eyes and the antennae. I think a vertical composition would have also worked here. Thanks for sharing.

P.S - Can see some dust spots in the dark background.

Interesting angle. Its time to clean your sensor. It is always tough to shoot in narrow apertures due to the sensor dust issue. What is the left side dark band? I agree with Mrudul that a vertical composition would have worked fine here. However, when you do vertical the subject will appear smaller in the frame. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,
Sabyasachi

sensor dust is a real pain that I have been facing for sometime, always get my gear serviced in Feb, march, slightly in advance so that its working without any issues during the monsoon season, but with this ever extending lockdown am unable to get its properly serviced and sensor cleaned thru the Canon's authorized service centre
Sabyasachi Sir, the dark portion on the left is the background, upto that point the leaf is reflecting some light, later its the absence thats bringing in darkness
