The sunlight actually adds to the image... Would have been nicer if you could have included the nest entrance as well... The couple look cute...

You have photographed this image at 200mm. is this a crop?
When we look at this image our eye trails down towards the nest opening. We get a hint of the nest opening but don't see it. So it would have been better to include the full nest. Else, you could have used a longer focal length, so that the focus would have been mostly on the birds.
In this image there is a play of light and shadows. We ought to be careful in composing when there are dark and bright areas. Our digital camera sensors (as well as film ) have limited dynamic range and are not as good as our eye. So when the scene has deep shadows and bright light it becomes difficult. So it is important to compose keeping in mind that a big difference in tonality would not appear nice in the image.
Using a fill flash is also an option to throw back some light into the dark areas. Pulling up some of the shadow areas during post processing helps in this case.

Lovely image. Cute birds. Liked the perch, eye contact and the clean BG. The sunlight on the birds add to the composition. Sabyasachi has already given a detailed comment, so nothing much to add :). Look forward to more..
