You are lucky to be able to capture this agile bird. I have tried it a few times, they move around the trunk and I lose them :(, hopefully next time. Nice eye contact. Thanks for sharing.

If you don't get it in the first try the move up fast and all you get is a big crop. So one needs to be ready to click. Not my cup of tea with a long lens. Dada will vouch for that. He was the fastest finger first in our Sundarban trip. :D

Nice image. Nice eye contact. I love to call it by its other name - Little Scaly-bellied Green Woodpecker. The soothing green colour makes it so beautiful.
