When a tiger stalks it often sits down to carefully assess the approach. Many times I saw this tigress moving a bit and then stopping and hiding behind a clump of grass and then trying to figure out the best method.

Canon EF 400mm f2.8 L IS USM lens with 2XII TC ie at 800mm, ISO 800, f5.6, 1/500.

This is from Bandhavgarh National Park. There was a sandstorm, a precursor of rains. So the colours were different and I decided not to change the colour of the image.

Cheers,

The stalking pose looks nice. It might be taking stalk of the direction of wind and from which way to move forward. The grazing deer in the background shows that it is still not aware of the presence of the tigress. Good details. Thanks for sharing.
