ID: Rice swift

Spotted few of these ones fluttering around the trail, eventually flying off due to the disturbance of the people or the vehicle passing thru, this particular one seemed to defying all and rather had a priority to heat itself up and could be see, basking in the sun, typically with its wings opened up. Due to its preference to sun bask, could manage to approach this beauty, perched inbetween other grassy foliage, and get a few frames of it, as seen, with its proboscis all coiled up, probably eagerly awaiting to warm up to optimum temperature to flutter around swiftly, out of our and any predator’s sight

Nice low angle and good details. Its being steady, helped you to take your time and observe and capture. The small rain drop near its rear leg looks nice :). Was this in your society garden area? Thanks for sharing.

Good that you could get a nice view. Getting an uncluttered view of these critters is important else it distracts. Just be careful when there are passing vehicles. Some people don't realise and come on the road.

Cheers,

Or could that drop be the butterfly`s waste?

Yes that could be, as there are no other visible drops of rain on the leaf. Thanks :).
