Gaurs have plenty of water in the Mullaperiyar Dam at Periyar Tiger Reserve!...This dam is a contention point between Tamil Nadu and Kerala....but for these Gaurs the dam is a perennial source of precious water!

Periyar Tiger Reserve is a good place to sight Gaurs. Was it only these two or a big herd?
Recently a guar entered in the outskirts of Pune by chance, when it was sighted and then the forest department, police ..etc all were behind it and sadly it was tired out by running the whole day and died in the evening. Very poor handling of the crowd ☹️.

Nice shot. I would have liked a bit more contrast. Also a higher depth of field would have been better in getting more areas under the focus. Since you were in a moving motor boat it is also important to get the shutter speed right else the image becomes soft. What time did you click this? Thanks for sharing.

Nice capture of two gaurs dipping into the river to quench their thirst .It is always difficult to photograph from a boat .Thanks for sharing .
