Nikon P900 , 1/250 , F5.0 , ISO 280 . Cropped from bottom. Basic pp in Adobe Photoshop Express.

Clicked on 30th Jan, 2021 near Bidar outskirts.

I was busy shooting the harriers, when this male blackbuck came into view and allowed me to capture this shot.

Nice frame, with the male posing for you :). The Harriers, were they feeding on the ground? Look forward to more. Thanks for sharing.

Nice pic of a Black buck!I think these are very tough environments and only the bravest can survive!

Nice image of the Black buck. Its pattern of horn is different from that of the Black buck of Kanha - a different sub-species.

It must have been a pleasure watching this fellow strutting around with its beautiful headgear. What is the wall in the background?

Once the blackbucks used to roam around unhindered. Today their predators - the cheetahs - have gone and even these blackbucks have vanished from most of their previous habitat. With forest departments of various places believing grasslands to be waste lands, the fate of blackbucks is doomed.

Love to see more of these fellows. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,
Sabyasachi

Thanks Mrudul ma'am , Sankar sir , Sakti sir and Sabyasachi sir for viewing and sharing your suggestions.
Mrudul ma'am the harriers were not feeding instead they were roosting on the ground.
Sabyasachi sir the wall in the background is the wall of the airforce academy. Behind this academy lies a grassland , where all these gems survive.

Nice frame .I am glad these Black bucks are still strutting the grass lands of Bidar .The last I heard they were planning to construct a chemical factory here . The wall in the background must be be that of an aerodrome . Thanks for sharing

Thank you Shyamala ma'am for viewing and sharing your views. The plan was to construct a large industrial area in the grassland, the roads and the powerlines had been laid out and a large part of the area of the grassland has been fenced, with only a few gaps in between. But since the last 2 years the work has stopped completely and the blackbucks have claimed back their grassland.
